for some reason kashmir keeps trying to look alot bigger than he is normally his head is the size of a golf ball but here its about 2 times bigger

I dont think that its trying to look bigger...Octopuses alter there color and shape/size to better blend in with their environment. If your tank is full of rocks and gravel or w/e, the octopus will continue to blend in with whatever you have. Changing its size is essential to living in the wild...especially if it's confronted by enemies.
