According to www.stuff.co.nz, the SARS epidemic may have a negative impact on squid exports, as well as New Zealand's other major seafood exports. This, after the previously reported healthy start (http://www.tonmo.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=369) to the squid fishing season.

Not only that but as far as importing tropical freshwater and marine fish are concerned, we are having great difficulty booking cargo spaces on planes. The business only got 50% of its order 2 weeks ago and last week was worse. So that was about 30 boxes short!

As most ornamental fish come from this part of the world and with Cathay Paific threatening to stop flying a lot of its major routes, we could see a hike in prices!
