Interesting. Architeuthis rank is just for one post before promotion to Colossal Squid. I assume that this is to reflect that to spot one on TONMO will be as rare as spotting one in reality.

Well there must be something to them besides being "blobs", why else would they have been chosen to make up an entire 250(before was 500, as you well know) posts in the first place?

They are larg(ish) and bathypelagic, so they are rarely seen.

I think it's because Cuttlegirl, ob, and I spent so much time grousing and complaining about being stuck as bathypelagic gelationous blobs for such a long time. He needed to shut us up, and as you see, as soon as we had left blobdom behind we became cheerful as well as elegant! :smile:
