Very cool Tony! I love the new smilies!

You know Tony,

You could prevent all of this pointlessness by letting us gelatinous blobs mature into something else (maybe at 750 posts???). We would be happy being giant cuttlefish...

You could be a cat. Cat's smell bad.

It's a good thing that a certain someone is not at her computer or you would really be stacking up demerits!

Interesting. Architeuthis rank is just for one post before promotion to Colossal Squid. I assume that this is to reflect that to spot one on TONMO will be as rare as spotting one in reality.

If Drs Kubodera and Mori ever log onto this forum (heaven forbid), I'm sure they'll find one.

Oh dear. Tony's gone and changed the rank system again in the few seconds between me reading it, writing the above and pushing 'send message'. Consequently my post above makes no sense.

No changes there then.

Tony is just trying to annoy the gelatinous blobs and their campaign to better themselves...

By the way Tony,

Do you really like being thought of as a large gelatious blob???

Cephkid
Jun 5th, 2006, 06:33pm
Well there must be something to them besides being "blobs", why else would they have been chosen to make up an entire 250(before was 500, as you well know) posts in the first place?

sorseress
Jun 5th, 2006, 06:40pm
They are larg(ish) and bathypelagic, so they are rarely seen.

I happen to have been quite proud to be a large gelatinous blob, thank you very much! Made me feel a bit like later-period Orson Welles! Only a marine variety...

Shouldn't the cuttlefish get a littlebit more credit then just 15 posts? or maybe more then just saying Cuttlefish? I feel there should be a little more from that side of things.

Well, if you keep going, you'll get 250 posts of Sepia Elegans later. I've never been clear why Tony went with that instead of Sepia Apama which seems more in line with the "big cephalopods" theme of the higher ranks...

I think it's because Cuttlegirl, ob, and I spent so much time grousing and complaining about being stuck as bathypelagic gelationous blobs for such a long time. He needed to shut us up, and as you see, as soon as we had left blobdom behind we became cheerful as well as elegant!

Well Spence, thou shalt wander aimlessly through the abyss, far beneath the azure main, where days and nights follow each other in endless indistinguishable order, in night eternal, as a shapeless mass, carrying the weight of a thousand fathoms on your gelatinous shoulders, and noting naught bar the slow drift of detritus and marine snow before reaching CG's now exhalted state

Rest assured, we all have been there, or shall be eventually in the case of yet less fortunate ones...
