It's a shame the squid didn't make it into the movie. Has anyone read the book? Does James Bond get to fight a giant squid? Or is it just giving him a cuddle?

007 does indeed fight Dr. No's pet teuthid. Richard Ellis describes the action in the literature & cinema section of his book, "The Search For The Giant Squid."

As for the movie, perhas they only had enough in the budget for Ursula Andress's bikini. Fair trade.
