Just found this, and worth reporting:

Click here (http://www.renmanart.com/ammonite.html) for details of the construction of a large ammonite model currently on display at the Geological Survey of Canada in Vancouver, Canada. The model appears to be a hybrid of forms but is mostly based upon Douvilleiceras spiniferum, from the Queen Charlotte Islands. The model was built by Roy Bartlett of Renaissance Man and measures over 2.5m in length.

It is interesting that the model has been built with a modified hectocotylus arm, and has adopted the eight arm pattern.

Yeah, a fantastic model to mount over the front door. It would certainly scare away salesmen.
