That cousin may be thinking of either the blue shark or the mako shark.

Hope that helps,
Squidman

Yeh, I guess it might be the blue shark or the mako, but it might also be a torpedo ray  , but that's something different from a shark.

no he was talking about a shark to put in his tank. blue and mako are waaaaayyyyy to big for that. the only link on the net i can find that even talks about is is this http://www.allsands.com/pets/fish/home-aquarium-pet-shark.htm in it they talk about the blue torpedo looking like a small great white and give a rough pricing range.

LOL...what you are discussing are not real sharks at all, but egg laying freshwater fish...all available at your local lfs.

I don't think anyone was trying to flame you... I think Greg was just amused by the confusion that followed your post; you knew that it was an aquarium fish but others may not have. Don't be put off - there are a lot of good resources here!

TF is totally right...I was in no way shape or form flaming!!!! They are neat little fish...good luck with the info ! If he wants to breed them, tell him to use marbles for the bottom of the tank...works wonders!
