I live in mississippi. I have a 55gallon african cichlid tank and a 30 gallon reef tank. I am very interested in keeping an octopus but i know very little about their care so i'm hoping to learn as much as i can from this site before i decide to purchase one

Welcome, Mark! Having a reef tank means you already have experience with salt water. You are right to read up on everything before getting an octopus. Someone recently posted about an octo that died after an anemone was introduced to its tank. :sad:
