I know with the holidays, this site tends to quiet some, but I was curious as to how the new babies are doing. Do we have any updates?
G2 is fine! Still seems to be going strong and colors and textures as easily as ever! What a little pig!

Never get tired of pics of G2! I think he's been your most entertaining octopus with respect to colors and textures.

Depending on sizes it can take several weeks, they have to get past the 'baby hiding' stage

Colin, you've done us a great service by giving this behavior a name: the baby hiding stage!
Also, the little bimacs from Octopets are very young, younger than any of the wildcaught speicies for sale. And very young octos do hide a lot.

Ah yes, the BHS period of an octo's life is brief, sometimes enhanced by the occasional exposure to the next door neighbor's kid banging on the tank wall, or flashbulbs at loud parties...next comes the JEP (juvenile exploration phase) when the bimac attempts to crawl out of the tank, across your shag rug and hide underneath the stove.
