View Full Version : Small tank octopus? Cephkid Sep 23rd, 2004, 07:17pm I know there's joubini and mercatoris, but is there any other type octo that can go in a 30g tank? (besides the blue-ring please. ) Thanks Colin Sep 24th, 2004, 03:35am bocki and aculeatus are two but i have never seen young ones for sale..... cthulhu77 Sep 24th, 2004, 08:49am O. digeuti is sometimes offered for sale...we're lucky enough to be able to collect them locally, but they have really, really short life spans...but they do well in a 20 gallon tank, so a 30 would be fine. Cephkid Sep 29th, 2004, 11:08am I've heard of a bimac in a 30. would this work? Colin Sep 29th, 2004, 11:18am most bimacs would outgrow a 30 in my opinion... i think they deserve more space :) Cephkid Sep 29th, 2004, 11:27am Ok. Dang, need to get a bigger one- who knows how long that'll be. How big do O. briareus and O. bimaculatus get? Colin Sep 30th, 2004, 04:42am briareus - 12cm mantle and 60cm arms. similar to a bimaculoides bimaculatus is bigger than ...loides at 20cm mantle and 80cm arms Cephkid Sep 30th, 2004, 12:00pm so...briareus is out? Dang...no long lived ones. Well, there is always a Rossia pacifica...LOL :P |
