As I am getting ready or the arrival of my little octo I have a last min. question. Do feeder clams need to have direct lighting? I have a place in my internal sump I can build a mesh cage to keep the clams in but it is quite dark. Please advise! :heee: :?:

No, i dont belive that they are a species that have symbiotic photosynthetic algae within the mantle... and anyway, i dont suppose they will live long enough anyway....
Something like liquifry for egg laying fish would be better squirted across them every couple of days as they are filter feeders
