Squid and octopus are favoured creatures in science fiction. I see lots of threads about cephs in SF movies, etc but none about them in books.... aside from HP Lovecraft of course. :cthulhu:

What brought this topic to mind was seeing this

on the new books shelf. I managed not to buy it but still....

What are some other SF books with cephs in them? I know Arthur C. Clarke had giant squids in one of his novels...and the Russian duo of Arkady and Boris Strugatskii featured cephs at least 2 or 3 times...who else?

I'm sure there were plenty of fifties SF Pulp magazines with cephs on the cover wielding death-rays and kidnapping women!
