The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have just released a great new feature on their website, an interactive hydrothermal vent field. This is based upon discoveries and film footage at the Mariana volcanic arc in the western Pacific. The website contains much fascinating detail and is well worth a look. Of particular interest to TONMO viewers is stunning footage of a deep water octopus at one of the vent sites.

Just wish they had more footage of the Octopus, but I guess even finding one was lucky. :D
