Yes they will, curious little buggers. :) Nancy Mar 2nd, 2004, 09:48pm Welcome to TONMO.com from me, too! We would be glad to have another person keeping a bimac - you'll find lots of good information here. Nancy unsound Mar 2nd, 2004, 09:49pm they can get threw a whole that small? the slit is no bigger than 1/4 of an inch. i am really considering buying this tank how can i get around this problem Burstsovenergy24 Mar 2nd, 2004, 09:50pm :welcome: unsound! :D It might try and probably could if it's small. :| neptune Mar 2nd, 2004, 09:58pm :welcome: Octos can get through any hole their beaks can fit through! Try this thread. http://www.tonmo.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1990[/list] unsound Mar 2nd, 2004, 10:12pm at octopets it says the mantle size is 3/4-1 inch.has anyone had problems with using overflows with bimacs i just need 2 know if it will be ok before i buy this tank. thanks for the help neptune Mar 2nd, 2004, 10:19pm with every system there are concerns to the size and you will have to octo proof at your discretion! Some may say a bimac will not crawl out at all. While other feel it best to err to the side of caution. There have been bimac tragedies through the overflow. You would prolly be better blocking of the Utube like I did, in the thread I posted earlier. Burstsovenergy24 Mar 2nd, 2004, 10:23pm You did so with a weaving mat? What store? :) neptune Mar 2nd, 2004, 10:25pm Wally World, but a craft store will work. Burstsovenergy24 Mar 2nd, 2004, 10:27pm Do you have a pic of it? :) neptune Mar 2nd, 2004, 10:35pm If you are interested I will post a pic tomorrow. The tank lights are off right now, and I dont want to use the flash in the dark, sorry. :D Burstsovenergy24 Mar 2nd, 2004, 10:42pm Sure Ill wait. :) Nancy Mar 2nd, 2004, 11:11pm I have an overflow with slits, and I took plastic netting and wove it through the slits. Had to clean it or replace it every month or so, but it worked! Nancy Burstsovenergy24 Mar 2nd, 2004, 11:12pm Interesting idea. Mine has slits too. :) joel_ang Mar 3rd, 2004, 01:47am The octo only risks going in while its still small, i will be simply too big when its older, Nancy's suggestion is a good one, you could try that. neptune Mar 3rd, 2004, 08:05pm Here is the pic Burstsovenergy24 Mar 3rd, 2004, 08:10pm Thanks! So it didnt block the flow much? neptune Mar 3rd, 2004, 08:18pm Not this way. Smaller screen did! Burstsovenergy24 Mar 3rd, 2004, 08:19pm How big are the holes? neptune Mar 3rd, 2004, 08:22pm bout an 1/8 of an inch!. I did cut a couple of spaces on the edges, and this seemed to help any flow blockage that may have been! neptune Mar 5th, 2004, 03:10pm Sorry I didn't see this question earlier  , but the holes are about 1/8" square. |
