Just wanted to say hi and see if anyone else on here is from Hawaii. I'm looking to set up an octo tank and was wondering if anyone knew about the local octopus? My friend catches them while fishing sometimes, so he said he'd give me one to try to keep instead of eating it.

:welcome: to Tonmo.com RandyB, Cyanea, is an interesting species though it can grow quite big. I hope you can get a baby though!

Seploids are just really to cute to resist, though their nocturnal existence bothers me.

I think you could make it less nocturnal for you by changing its lighting schedule.

IMO - a feeding schedule may do better for adjustment, than a light schedule

What I mean is that if you arent going to be with your tank for say 8 hours you can get a timer that would make it's schedule fit yours.

I agree, I have timers on all my tanks, for another added constant to the system.
