Now, would cuttlefish regard seahorses as prey? If they do, perhaps the seahorse wouldn't be regarded as a prey item due to the fact that it's carrying cuttlefish eggs with it?
Well some squid do, I've found seahorse/pipefish remains in N.sloanii, not sure that the eggs would be protective either, many cephs are cannibals!
