I heard about it in some discussion forum, you think there coming out with part two of finding nemo?
Maybe they might do it on ceph's instead of clown fish, you never know lol. I loved the first, it was very entertaining and funny for all ages mind you.
What do you guy's and gal's want/expect for pt.2, who liked the first one and why, what was your favorite part of the first one, who was your favorite character?

um...
Jan 30th, 2004, 08:19pm
I loved the movie.  (Top 10, maybe?)
Because it was clever and staggeringly beautiful.
It was all good.
My favourite character was the whale who swallowed Marlin and Dory.

Any sequel will probably be disappointing. :(

Pixar RULES.

lol, but why would a sequel be disappointing?
the whale was your favorite character? :? :P
ah well, if I ever make a finding nemo fave character poll thread, I'l be sure to exclude the whale first, j/k, but the whale, come on, there were way more cooler characters. :)

um...

Whaaaat!?

The whale had all the best lines, man! They're all in the LFE channel, though, and you need a really good subwoofer to hear 'em.

lol, whatver you say um...
My favorite character was Dory, I hope she'll be in the sequel, she's SO funny! :)

Favorite?

Impossible for me to distill a favorite from that bunch.

"Swim. Away."

um...
Jan 30th, 2004, 10:25pm
lol, but why would a sequel be disappointing?

Because Disney ex Pixar probably means Nemo 2 ex talent. Witness the $equel to Aladdin for an example of the bad things that could happen.

Also see sequels for hunchback of notre dame, lilo and stitch and quite a few others and you'll know what we mean. But Toy Story 2 was pretty good so maybe Finding Nemo 2 will be the same? My favourite character is also Dory, I like the just keep swimming...........................

I just hope they don't make cephs too cute in it. Look at all the poor wild caught clowns that had to fill the tanks of the kids who saw that movie. We've got to keep our octos on the "down low"

lol, I think the octo in the first one was very cool and cute.

Thankfully they seem to normally inhabit deeper waters, It'll be fun though, to see kids carrying vampyroteuthis in plastic bags running home.

WhiteKiboko

this is kinda parallel to the finding nemo thread... the relations between companies is being followed over there.... as for the sequel, i think disney retains the rights to sequels even though they split...pixar wanted out pretty bad...

Thanks WK, for confirming that! IMO -It will suck if Pixar is not involved!

Hmm. I had to be dragged kicking and screaming to that film (nemo)...and ended up really liking it (agree, dory the blue tang is funny) I do hope the sequel will be done with Pixar...disney has gotten a little to commercial...oh well.
Maybe they could do a film about PT boats.

If there are any hopes of a sequel, Im sure that Disney and Pixar will have to team-up again, they both retain rights as WK has said, so If they can let the small arguments slide I have muh hope for Finding Nemo 2, if it will be called that lol. Im sure they will work on a sequel with a completely different storyline or maybe not, but I think a new storyline is in order but who knows, it might end up like toy story where all they did was "re-play" the story...
Just look at the gross and net sales the Finding Nemo DVD has made, with those figures Im sure this heated debate between Pixar and Disney will turn into thin air.
Not much online about "Finding Nemo 2", practically nothing to search for. :( :?
Will have to wait a while I suppose.

Its really too bad they split, the best animation shows were made by them. I just hope they get back together.

lol, same here. I just want to see screens or something (ANYTHING!) about finding nemo 2, which I really hope comes out. :)
On a few movie sites, they have recent information on the "suppose sequel", which I might add is set to come out late 2004, from what I've read. :)

Pixar has two more films with Disney - one I know will be called "Cars", the other I'm not sure of. Disney is pulling forward two of its own projects to release at the same time as Pixar's films so to reduce the price of Pixar stock - or so it has been reported. Pixar's deal with Disney was a fluke and Disney was very angry that Pixar got such a good deal. Disney weren't able to influence the films and imprint the "Disney" ethic on Pixar films.

For instance: in Toy Story, there is a single mother with two kids, no visible father - a big no-no in the Disney world.

Pixar's web site will tell you more. Suprisingly, it's very graphic intensive!

I am for one strongly against a "Finding Nemo" sequel...... Reasons being the first show caused a Marine Hobby Explosion in where I come from Singapore..... Perhaps we here are not mature enough as hobbyists or perhaps the enterprising LFS owners and potential LFS owners are trying to cash in on the Nemo craze.....

What happened was that freshwater LFS were converting themselves to marine setups....

Mini starter kits of tanks with less than 2 gallons were sold with marine salt, a bottle or trace elements, gravel and light to unsuspecting potential customers

Customers were told "Its very easy to setup marine tank... now with modern technology, just put in marine salt and water..... very easy one...."

Children were encouraged to pester and bug their parents to buy them that cute clown fish called Nemo.... YES LFS actually advertised clowns as Nemos.....

Result??? Heavy mortality in fish stocks as owners didnt know how to care for the marine setup....

Children get bored of Nemo after a while and fish dies when neglected....

Waters in regional areas are depleted of livestock as demand surges... and methods such as cyanide poisoning is suspected to yield high supply of marine livestock....

Therefore Im for one heavily opposed to a Finding Nemo part 2

um...

I think that's sad, but funny. That's almost as bad, in terms of ludicrousness, as if Bambi had led to an increase in deer hunting. I love how people can totally miss the point like that.

I think it comes down to the kids and the parents really, after all they are mainly the ones who boosted the sales. I personally loved the first one, and yes, I did contribute to the magnificent and record breaking DVD sales, partly due to the great interactive games the DVD had and the very funny and family oriented movie. Also another contributing factor was my love for oceanography in broad perspective, I think a sequel would be great for everyone, adults and children alike. I am 100% positive that we are bout the only ones speaking of finding nemo 2 in a bbs. :D
I think we deserve a sequel!:P

Perhaps a sequel wont be a bad idea if a strong message can be incorporated in the show that Marine tanks are just for anybody and unless one can care for them properly, some things are best left in the wild..... Otherwise.... I dread to see what a Nemo part 2 would bring...

[UPDATE]:
Hi all, I was reading a uk magazine just today (forgot the title already, heh), and in one article it said since steve jobs canceled out disney, he has since been looking elsewhere for others to work in collaboration with his company, Pixar to shoot Finding Nemo 2, in fact he said that others are looking for his company, since it HAS gorwn to be one of the best cg companies around. Thought I should come here and give you the inside scoop. Its funny, cause yet again you search for finding nemo 2 and we top google and yahoo, probably others too. 8)
We REALLY are the no.1 place to look for ANYTHING ceph-related. Better yet, now were no.1 to search for anything "Finding Nemo 2" related, hehe. :D :heee: :P

"I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine" (also sprach Bruce.)

with this quote, I think it's clear I liked the sharks best. allthough crush the seaturtle is a good second. The pelican also had his moments.

now that disney and pixar are "divorced", I don't think there'll ever be a sequel. maybe for the best. the only cartoon sequel I really liked was shrek2

hey, maybe that's an idea. we'll have dreamworks make a parody of nemo.

"Mommy, I wanna Nemo!"

GOOD GOD! THESE LITTLE KIDS MISSED THE WHOLE POINT! I mean, come ON! Fish gets caught. Fish is put in tank. Fishowner is 'bad guy'. Fish escapes back to his daddy. Moral of story: lessen fishkeeping. First words outta kids mouth after movie is over: "Mommy, I wanna Nemo!" GOOD GOD!

I loved Finding Nemo! It's one of those films that you can watch over and over again! I love it!

But..

I don't understand how you can make a sequel to a film like Finding Nemo. Surely Nemo can't get lost twice? & if they did find another story to do about the fish, it wouldn't be able to be called Finding Nemo, as you wouldnt be finding Nemo.

The sequel would most likely be dissapointing, and totally ruin the whole Finding Nemo 'thing'.

:welcome: to TONMO!

I might have made the same arguments about Toy Story 2, but I think that turned out fine. From what my spies tell me, Disney's acquisition of Pixar doesn't appear to have damaged their creativity or integrity, so I don't know that disappointment is a foregone conclusion. Of course, I was optimistic standing in line for Highlander 2 on opening night. But I have a number of friends who work at Pixar who seem upbeat in general, although most of them are programmers making tools for the artists rather than artists themselves.
