Sounds like our friend Dr. Roy Caldwell has completed a study with Mary Cheng on the sexual behavior of octopuses. Sounds like an interesting report! Here's the short story from Reuters:

Sex Just a Stab in the Dark for Octopus Down Under (http://reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=scienceNews&storyID=1981376)

Other outlets that picked up on this story and wrote original articles for it:

The confused octopus (http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/01/02/1041196739877.html)

Notorious sex pest of the animal world has the perfect excuse for serial groping (http://news.independent.co.uk/world/science_medical/story.jsp?story=366007)

:cthulhu: :cthulhu: :cthulhu: :cthulhu: :band:  :snorkel: It seems it is a dangerous business to view such a mating process. I think I have observed some of the same fumbling in the human rhelm. Perhaps a longer foreplay is not that alARMIMG considering the female species of any animal seems to enjoy this ritual. :D :D :D :D 8) 8) 8)
I hope this is not too inkcredable to imagine this line of thinking, but I found the article rather humorous    Sometimes I have mind pictures that go where no man has gone before
Thanks for the article I found it interesting

Ummm -- why does this thread remind me of something Colin once posted about a typical Glasgow pub on Saturday night?
