Teuthology is the science of studying cephalopods (I think it includes Nautilus... ?) and you'll find quite a lot about it by browsing TONMO.

Hi Davec15
Yes, there are a lot of people online that can help you. However, I'd appreciate it if you would pay a little more attention to grammar, as a number of us are old school (and getting older, fast) and don't really appreciate 'text-style' postings.
:welcome:

I do to, but the only way to get better at it is to always try. I have my internet browser set up to check my spelling as I type and if I get stuck on a word I use google or ms word to get the right spelling.

ok ill try but anyway yes i am considering this for college so are there any books you would recomend that i look for on teuthology
Hi Dave,
There aren't huge numbers of books out there, but try for
Hanlon & Messenger, 1996. Cephalopod Behaviour. Cambridge University Press. I see its available on Amazon.com, but the price is nasty!
Norman, 2000. Cephalopods: A world guide . Conch Books. Also on Amazon.com and pricey
Any books you could get your hands on by Kir Nesis (although these are rare and expensive).
Ummmm Nixon & Young, 2003. The Brains and Lives of Cephalopods. Oxford University Press, Oxford.
Are just some I can think of. Try your local library under marine biology, natural history etc.
I know Cousteau wrote one called Squid and Octopus the soft intelligence.

there was nothing at the library but i ask my grandfather about it and he gave me a stack of marine biology books from when he went to college and my dad is giving me some of his
They are pretty specialised and a bit thin on the ground! BUT Nancy and Colin (our ceph care moderators) have a book coming out soon about looking after cephs in the home aquarium.............that one should be much easier to find, in fact you can pre order on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Cephalopods-Octopuses-Cuttlefish-Home-Aquarium/dp/0793806585) and I know for a fact it has lots of interesting info in it!!!!!!!!
Also check out second hand bookshops, sometimes these books turn up there, I got my Cousteau one in a 2nd hand bookshop.
Goodluck
