Architeuthoceras Apr 15th, 2008, 10:15pm Holy Cow (http://antiquesandthearts.com/Antiques/AuctionWatch/2008-04-15__13-40-56.html) Octodude Apr 15th, 2008, 11:07pm Wow. I could have gotten some ammolite in Belize but i didnt have the cash. Neato. cuttlegirl Apr 16th, 2008, 07:44am :bugout: It is beautiful, but I never considered spending what I could spend on a house for an ammonite. L8 2 RISE Apr 16th, 2008, 08:08am It's amazing, but was the other stuff sold at what it was worth? If the amonite sold for this much, wouldn't the other stuff be worth alot as well, such as the turtle that sold for 27,000, is that what it is worth? did the auction macke it worth less than it actually was. Architeuthoceras Apr 16th, 2008, 11:17am I guess things are worth the amount some people are willing to pay. Without the amolite the ammonite would probably be worth considerably less. :rainbow: monty Apr 16th, 2008, 12:38pm :bugout: It is beautiful, but I never considered spending what I could spend on a house for an ammonite. Put her in a fossil shell, and there he kept her very well? shipposhack Apr 17th, 2008, 02:41am Forgive my ignorance, but is the fossil naturally the myriad of colors pictured or was the piece painted? If it is natural how does something like that occur? monty Apr 17th, 2008, 02:55am Forgive my ignorance, but is the fossil naturally the myriad of colors pictured or was the piece painted? The wikipedia page has some good info on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ammolite Somewhere around here there's a thread discussing it, too... try searching for ammolite... |
