I got a Bimac about 2 1/2 or 3 weeks ago and a few days ago she laid eggs. How can i tell if the eggs are fertile or not??

Time is the only answer I know. Wait a few weeks and see if embryos develop!

How long ago would an octopus have to mate if they were to produce fertile eggs months later in a home aquarium?

I have read that some can keep sperm for 6 months or more but I believe that was for a GPO. I know Trapper (Mercatoris) mated over a month before brooding but she only produced 6 young. Her daughter, however, started brooding almost immediately after mating.
