he did not come out for food or investigation when i was taking the hermits out of his tank... I don't have salt water mixed... should I just mix some and do a water change or wait for the am???

Sometimes they just don't come out. Do you have reason to believe your water parameters are off?

You are better to mix your saltwater, leave a powerhead or little pump in the container to mix the saltwater, and wait until tomorrow before using it.
