from the "esoteric historical footage" department, Pharyngula (http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2007/08/oooh_historical_squid_science.php) links to a bunch of movies of squid giant axon research (http://www.science.smith.edu/departments/NeuroSci/courses/bio330/squid.html) including big names like JZ Young and Hodgkin (Hodgkin and Huxley developed the basic axon model for all neurobiology working with squids, as far as I know this was the only cephalopod-related Nobel Prize.)

Anyway, those of you into historical electrophysiology in neuroscience will doubtless enjoy these... (see also Young Frankenstein)
