Hi all,
Although my big trip focused mostly on dead squid in jars, I did try to get to the local aquarium in most places (apart from DC, where my plan to meet Carol in Baltimore was foiled by the dastardly tropical storm Barry ).
The Two Oceans Aquarium (http://www.aquarium.co.za/) in Cape Town is very good, so if you ever get the chance to go there, you should! Although there were only two ceph species, the giant Indonesian/Malaysian morays (~9' long, heads the size of German Shepherds' heads!) were amazing, and their kelp forest is IMHO as good as Monterey Bay's.
Not sure what species the octo and cuttle were, but I had fun interacting with them both...
