This is a clarification on TONMO policy as it relates to advertising vs. spam.

Being such a dedicated group focused on cephalopods and ceph care, it's not surprising that businesses and enterprising individuals are interested in getting their messages in front of us in order to enhance sales or raise awareness about their products and services. Generally speaking, that's a wonderful thing, and I appreciate the many businesses and individuals who work with me to become part of our advertising / sponsorship program. Details on that program can be found here.

Sometimes, though, these entities may try to engage with you via other means - via Private Message, an email (if yours is posted), and even through spammy or non-approved solicitation forum posts (but note our Staff is diligent about spotting and removing such posts). If you have concerns about any TONMO visitors soliciting business from you in an unwanted way, just let me know via Private Message or email (email@tonmo.com) and I'll be happy to investigate along with Staff, and take any appropriate actions. Our terms of service are clear about not allowing solicitations of any kind unless approved by me.

Bottom line, we've got you covered - if this has happened to you, we apologize for the inconvenience - it's not our intent to have others take advantage of this community in that way.
