Nat Geo: humbolt squid flashing communications

I had to watch several times to be sure I was seeing flying spermatophores and spermatophores stuck in suckers but the caption suggests I was not seeing things.

By far the coolest thing I've seen so far this year!

According to the article this is from (Rosen et al. 2015), in the first couple shots, the CritterCam had a red light attached to it, so all the squid were quite interested and eventually tore it off. Later shots are just under ambient lighting and have much more natural behavior. Though I’m sure it will only be the unnatural extremely aggressive behavior that makes it onto TV :frown:
